近年来,优化数据中心的供电模式已是提高供电系统运行效率及降低数据中心PUE值的主旋律。各种优化方案层出不穷,归纳起来,无外乎就是一个方法,即增加市电直供使用率,减少换流设备使用率。但是,优化供电模式也不是无限制的,在优化的同时,必须考虑ICT设备安全运行的要求。只有供电模式符合所供ICT设备的要求,优化才具有实际意义。

供电系统串联级数越多,其供电可靠性越低,系统运行效率就越低;并联级数或个数越多,其系统供电可靠性就越高,系统运行效率就越高。所以说,若想保持供电系统的供电可靠性并提高运行效率,除了保证供电系统自身的可靠性指标外,还需要简化系统串联级数,设置合理的(并联)备用设备,从而达到提高供电系统运行效率的目的。

供电系统是服务于整个数据中心的用电设备,它无法决定每个用电设备的耗电量和效率,也无法决定用电设备对供电可靠性的要求,它能做的就是做好自己,为用电设备服务。

具备高可靠性供电系统的运行效率一定不是高的,而结构简单的供电系统通常是运行效率高的。对供电可靠性有不同要求的ICT设备应该采用不同的供电模式,ICT设备采用何种供电模式不是由供电系统决定的,而应由ICT设备及网络来决定。
